A Noteworthy Project on Lake Burton

Connie West's listing, Burton Woods, is a beautiful estate lot with 4.162 fee simple acres and 300' of pristine lake frontage. Valued at $2,300,000, it is a home builder's dream, with breathtaking lake and mountain views, endless possibilities, and one other unique aspect that sets it apart from all the rest.

At the peak of the lot, lies a vintage, 1960s cabin that belonged to the Abercrombie family. Inside, original appliances, floors, fireplace, and gorgeous wooden beams can be found. The cabin is being thoughtfully restored and renovated into a charming guest house with outdoor game/entertaining areas and an outdoor shower. The owners want it to "...feel like camp!" Some enjoyable characteristics of this 2 bedroom, 1 bath guest house include retro-designed appliances to model the original kitchen, a hanging bed in the second bedroom, and beautifully restored floors, walls, and ceilings. There will even be a "horseshoe pit" on the side of the house! Check out these pictures of the renovation process and call Connie West for a tour. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for a dream family retreat on Lake Burton!

The View from my Office...

One of the perks owning property on Lake Burton is that when the weekend day boaters go home, you are left with the most gorgeous days of calm and peaceful serenity. Especially in late August after school has started, you will find that you have the whole lake to yourself during the week. You can ski all the way down the main lake, swim across your cove, or just sit on the boathouse and enjoy the view. Those of you that can work from home, why not work from the lake? Or at least plan you vacation for this time of year. You can't beat it!

New Listing on Lake Burton

This premier point lot on Scenic Lake Drive in Moccasin Creek Cove is listed for $1,200,000. First time on the market since 1938. It was right in the path of the devastating tornado that hit Lake Burton on April 27, 2011, and the damage to the home and surrounding landscape was significant. This is a great opportunity to acquire one of the most beautiful point lots on Lake Burton and restore it to its original beauty as shown below.

Happy Birthday America!

Greetings from the Burton Blog!

Well, the 4th of July weekend was a great success this year! Beautiful weather and a good time had by all! The fireworks show on Saturday night was spectacular as always; I think it may have been the 'grandest' finale we've ever seen!

The West family celebrated with a little too much fried food, so this week we are all trying to get back into our exercise routines! A small price to pay for a fun-filled holiday weekend....

After all of the buzz this weekend, the phones are ringing this week. New listings are in the works and buyers are circulating. This is peak season for buying and selling, so act fast and give us a call--we'll show you what's newly on the market! It's 10 degrees cooler up here and the water always stays "refreshing", so who couldn't use an escape from the city with a boat ride and cooling-off swim? Connie is ready when you are!

Happy 4th of July from the West Family!!
